Animal Assisted Therapy
Emily will soon be offering Animal Assisted Therapy with her therapy rabbit in training, Pixie.
Animal Assisted Therapy is a form of therapeutic intervention that utilizes a certified therapist and certified animal such as a dog, rabbit, cat, pig etc. which is used to enhance or compliment more traditional therapist. Emily utilizes rabbits as a way to help clients learn to utilize difficult coping skills, learn self regulation and practice intuitive eating in eating disorder treatment.
Emily believes that through combining art, animals and tradition therapies such as DBT or TF-CBT clients are able to discover who they truly are, over come self-esteem issues and learn to embrace their most authentic selves.
